Do you read the news? I follow NPR and though I saw this news story first on another site, it showed up on NPR a couple days later. I woke up at 5:15AM as I do every day to take my temperature. Since I commented on the article, many many many more stupid comments have appeared the majority in support of the CDC’s recent recommendation (many men obviously). I lied there seething and couldn’t go back to sleep, and when I finally did, I had a nightmare, of course.
The CDC is targeting poor ignorant women (sarcasm). Take a look at this cute infographic. Pay particular attention to #2. That’s right ladies. The CDC wants you to pump strong hormones in your body. They don’t want you to be educated about FAM. Nope, no one can make any money that way. The money is to be made by women purchasing birth control. No wonder I was put on birth control at 13. How much money have I helped make pharmaceutical companies over the past 20 years? I don’t even want to think about that number.
I hate the way women have been treated throughout history regarding fertility. It’s 2016 why does the government think that it’s okay to decide how a woman should take care of her body. Well, women are also livid about this. Rightly so. However, read the comments. Many people still think this is a good idea. How is this a good idea?!?! I need to put this on the blog because I need to get it out of my head. It’s so infuriating.
I am sure I mentioned this before but I will NEVER EVER go back on birth control again. I’m going to continue to monitor my cycles. This is how I will try to get pregnant and in the future this is how I will prevent pregnancy. It is also how I will track my alcohol consumption. So thanks but no thanks CDC. We don’t need your help.
