On the internet, we must be brave…

My before pictures suck really.  I’m sorry about that.  Honestly, I had no desire to ever be photographed during the time I was fat.  I’m sure you understand.  Anyway, I’m pretty proud of my weight loss, so I thought I’d finally share it.  To date I’ve lost 13kg (31lbs) and I’m still going strong.  (Also, yes I love Line.)  Note: Aside from the stickers, none of the following photos have been altered in any way.  These are 100% me.

This picture below was taken in August 2016:

Mamoru (pictured as James here) said the first thing he noticed about my weight loss was that my legs had gotten skinnier.  The second thing he noticed was my face.  (Sorry it’s behind Moon there.)  You can really see the thickness in my legs in the above picture.

This picture was taken last week:

The first picture was taken today.  I’m still not quite where I want to be yet.  I’d like to be down around 65kg (60kg if I feel like pushing it).  Both those numbers would put me in normal BS…uh…I mean BMI range.

This weekend I received a bag of books from a giveaway group on Facebook.  Before I went to pick them up, the giver messaged me and asked if I wanted an ab roller and some weights.  I jumped on that as I’ve seen videos of people using ab rollers on Instagram.  I started using it this weekend and holy shit it’s hard.  I’m adding it to my exercise regime because I don’t want to be skinny like Japanese girls.  I want to be fit and strong.

The part where I am right now is, I think, the hardest part.  When I first started, it seemed like the weight just melted off and now it seems to be stubbornly holding on.  No worries.  I’m committed to this.  I want to be a better me.  Also, I want new clothes.  😉  If you’ve been around during this whole time, I appreciate you cheering me on via likes and comments.  It’s really been helpful to air my frustrations here.  Thank you for your support.  I hope the next set of pictures look even better!

  1. Wow, you are looking great. Do you feel better? One thing I noticed when I started eating right and working out better is that I had more energy for stuff. I feel better about myself and more motivated.

Your hard work is paying off in spades.

  2. You are brave to post before and after photos on the Internet! Great job on sticking with it and loosing the weight – I know it hard and frustrating at times. I always find it interesting how people loose it in different areas (or notice different areas?) – you said your legs and face. I tend to loose it all in my gut and boobs. And yes on the ab roller! It is harder than they make it look on TV!!!! I also need to start doing some weights to ton up though I prefer simply to run… great legs and butt but arms are like wet noodles.

  3. Honestly, I don’t think you look fat in the before pictures. Yes, you are bigger than now, but far from what I think of as “fat”.

I am not overweight by BMI (BS – ha, I like that!), but I am heavier than I want to be. I definitely have thick legs (well, thighs really) and a bit of a belly going on!

My TSH was still elevated at my last appointment (although within “normal” limits) I’ve been put on levothyroxine. I’m hoping that will end up being the explanation for some things and I will actually manage to shift some weight now.
